We are happy to share our presence at ECCM22, held in Oslo, Norway between June 21–25, and thankful to the organizing committee for arranging a special session for the Torpropel project, "Toroidal Propellers for Efficient and Sustainable Aviation" (SS22), chaired by our coordinator Prof. Alkiviadis Paipetis (University of Ioannina).

In the session, our partners presented the following work:

💡 The TorPropel Project: Concept, Objectives, Methodologies, Impact

💡 A parametric geometry framework to introduce variability in toroidal propeller designs

💡 3R Composite Manufacturing Technologies: Vitrimer Prepreg Innovations and R2R Processing

💡 Integrated Monitoring Solution for Enhanced Toroidal Propeller Safety

These contributions span the full breadth of the project, from aerodynamic design and vitrimer-based 3R (repairable, reprocessable, recyclable) manufacturing to integrated structural health monitoring for toroidal propellers.

🎗️ The session was a great success, attracting a highly engaged audience from across the European composites community. The lively Q&A and the many follow-up discussions during the breaks confirmed the growing interest in toroidal propeller technology and sustainable composite manufacturing and opened the door to promising new collaborations. We warmly thank everyone who attended and contributed to the discussion! 👏
